How to Conjugate French - Yer verbs in Present tense

To conjugate French -yer verbs, such as "employer" (to employ) or "envoyer" (to send), in the present tense, follow these guidelines:

For the singular forms (je, tu, il/elle/on):

Remove -er as usual from the verb to put -er ending BUT change "y" to "i' in the verb while adding -er endings.

Take the verb's root (the part before the -er ending), which is "employ-" and add -er ending but change Y to I also like "j'emploie"

Add the corresponding endings: -e, -es, -e for je, tu, il/elle/on.

Example:

J'emploie (I employ)

Tu emploies (You employ)

Il/Elle/On emploie (He/She/One employs)

For the plural forms (nous, vous, ils/elles):

Take the verb's root.

Add the corresponding endings: -ons, -ez,  for nous, vous. With vous and nous no change will happen to Y, it will remain same these conjugations.

Example:

Nous employons (We employ)

Vous employez (You employ)
